The 360 Xprehab Program (extended prehabilitation program) is a 12-week multidisciplinary program for patients with hip and knee joint osteoarthritis with surgery planned for more than 3 months into the future. This surgeon endorsed program gives patients access to programs designed by a team of Patient Partner Physiotherapists, dietitians, and psychologists, to assist with stabilising and managing patient symptoms whilst awaiting and preparing for their upcoming surgery.
The Xprehab program has been designed based upon 360 Med Care’s multidisciplinary Osteoarthritis Management Program, which we have been trialling since early 2019 for individuals with hip and knee osteoarthritis, providing evidence-based treatment options to reduce pain, improve function and quality of life, and ultimately delay surgery. From this program, and in conjunction with our current Patient Partner Program, the 360 Xprehab Program has been created.
Throughout the program, the surgeon remains actively engaged, and when necessary, a patient’s care can be easily escalated back to the surgeon to allow for further consultation. Outcome measures will be completed at various stages throughout the program and will include but not be limited to:
- Patient reported outcome measures
- Joint range of motion
The 360 Xprehab Program will be delivered entirely via telemedicine, with the patient and their Patient Partner Physiotherapist remaining in close contact throughout the duration of the program.
